Accio Lacquer

Today’s newest showcase in the Indigo Creations’ portfolio is all about Accio Lacquer. Accio Lacquer is a personal blog of a nail-fanatic with a fan-girl streak for anything Doctor Who, Harry Potter, and other geeky awesomeness. The creative genius behind this site, Mishka, is a creative artist from United States. With her site, we used a beautiful completely customized WordPress theme. Some other great goodies to her site are: Custom logo and banner Customized web design Graphics for social media networks Basic teachings in creating posts, pages, SEO setups Created ‘Accio Lacquer’ watermarks This has been a fun project to work on. This was something a bit different for Indigo Creations as no one knew the true following and massive nail blogger community. This has been a great learning experience for Mishka and for Indigo Creations. And she even asked us to design her business cards! And since she just got them in, she was a doll and sent us photos to show the finished product instead of displaying the graphics we used to create her cards! These cards are...

A New Year & A New Direction

Recently, Indigo Creations decided to stop everything and reconfigure every aspect of the company. We ladies here at Indigo Creations realized we weren’t quite going about things like we wanted and had to sit down and figure it out before we even attempted to proceed with more blog posts, marketing, or anything else. We all love what we do here but something was missing. Nina, one of Indigo Creations’ graphic artists, told me months ago to read a book called “Start Something That Matters” by Blake Mycoskie. Now, I’m just going to say this – if you haven’t read it, you should and soon. This book made me realize what was missing. Every Lady here is passionate about helping people and the world. But we were attempting to do it just on a personal level when we could. However, after reading just a few pages into the Blake’s book, I realized what was missing from Indigo Creations. Giving. All of us here are givers. We’re the type of girl who will give all and then some when someone or some animal is truly in need. And this made me realize that we didn’t have to give just on a personal level.  We should and could give on a professional level, too. So I pow-wowed with girls and ran some ideas by them. Everyone *loved* the concepts I presented and were eager to help with converting Indigo Creations from a for-profit business to a for-profit business with a heart and soul. Since this pow-wow so many things have fallen into place. When this happens, I know I’m on the right track with life. So that’s where we are now… finishing up all loose ends on all the new changes coming to Indigo Creations.  Here are some things you can look forward to: More info about our giving back project Going Green Giveaways eBooks And there is always something else in the works.  Make sure to subscribe to our newsletter, follow us on Facebook or Twitter, or even grab our RSS feed. Whatever your preference, make sure you do it. With these changes and the greatness in the works, you don’t want to miss a second. I promise....

Podio: Almost Better Than Chocolate

I’m not sure if you’re like me, but I’ve been through software option after software option for keeping track of everything for Indigo Creations. Having team members makes that much more complicated in finding something that allows them access, also.  But I’ve found finally my solution – Podio.  It’s a funny name for a company, but you won’t forget it once you use it. Podio is almost better than chocolate in many ways. I wasn’t kidding when I made that the headline of this post.   What is Podio and Why is It Almost Better Than Chocolate? So you might be asking yourself what is Podio and how could it possibly be better than chocolate. Where to start! Podio is an online platform that allows you to manage various workflows all in one location. It’s like having a virtual office for you and any team members you might have as well as the ability to invite Clients to projects so that everyone can collaborate in one space. Say good-bye to back and forth emails to make sure everyone is on the same page, files can be saved into projects so that everyone has the proper edition of the files, and so much more!   How Does Podio Function? Podio allows users to create workspaces where you can then use various Podio and Podio-User Apps to help organize and maintain your projects and tasks. There are calenders, to-do lists, ways to create all sorts of wonderful aspects of your virtual office. Honestly, the only limits you have are the ones you create. The apps that are available are just crazy brilliant! You have the option to create your own app if you don’t find what you need with something already in existence. I don’t think that’ll be the case for many though. The organizational possibilities are magnificent, also. Within my Podio account, I have about 10 workspaces created. Each of these workspaces is dedicated to a specific aspect of what Indigo Creations does. There is also a workspace I call “The Supply Closet” that houses links and resources I treasure and want to share with those listed as Employees within Podio. The software is structured that when you do the initial setup and give it your work email address, in my case I gave it one of the @iccopywriting.com addresses I have, every person I list as an employee must...

The Pixi Yogi

A while ago, Indigo Creations teamed up with Steph, the soul and vision behind The Pixi Yogi. A young woman devoted to her path as a Kundalini Yogini, she wanted a place to share her experiences, lessons learned, and great findings along the way.  She’s what one might consider a freelancing yogini. And a damn good one at that! When we paired with The Pixi Yogi, we offered to help her establish the foundation of her website and show her the ropes. And we did just that. Originally, we designed only her Facebook and website banner.  However, she decided on a complete site make-over and we gave her just that. The new look of her site launched on December 21, 2012.  We gave her: a brand new logo a completely different and custom themed site the need-to-know on how to function on her new site various bits of knowledge and tips for getting the most of her site basic off-page SEO as we do with all web designs She’s had nothing but wonderful compliments on her relaunch and we’re pleased to hear she and everyone like the new site so...

The Musing Indigo

Placed on a WordPress.com site is this specially crafted banner.  The banner was created to simply give a feeling the various sides to the author of the blog. The dedicated thought and articulate details were masterfully crafted to the liking of the blogger. The Musing Indigo, a complex individual, really wanted the banner to stand out and be different but something that would need to be changed as the blog covers various topics and is constantly changing. Thankfully, Indigo Creations nailed it. Our mutual love for the color indigo was a definite bonding...
