Pinterest for Businesses

Alright. If you read last Monday’s post about Pinterest basics, you’ll know that we promised more information on using Pinterest for your business.  If you didn’t read it, check it out.  Or just continue on here. It’ll all make sense. Promise. So here goes.  Businesses of all kinds can use Pinterest to help promote their company.  You just have to be creative.  And in my opinion, being creative is definitely not a bad thing.  It’s a necessity to online marketing especially.  Let’s get down to business. Pinterest is a visual content social network. We all know this. You have to have visuals of some kind to make it happen on Pinterest.  So how do you do that with an online company that maybe provides a service where you don’t even actually have images of products to talk about? Here are some suggestions from HubSpot and their awesome ebook on Pinterest for Businesses: Have a board started to show behind the scenes in your company, showcasing personality, company activities, etc. Videos!  Have a board with videos of things that pertain to your business. Maybe you or someone in your business speaks at events. Pin those babies! Now, this is something Indigo Creations is about to get into soon. So we can’t say from experience how well the video pinning works. However, a bit of common sense and know-how of the way social media works and one can just begin to understand how videos on Pinterest can be beneficial! Especially if they’re pinned from your YouTube channel. *hint hint* Maybe your service or product promotes a specific way of life.  Have a board or many that promote that way of life, giving ideas of how your product or service can help achieve that lifestyle for the Client. For example, Indigo Creations promotes green living and donates to conservation projects.  We have a board called “Giving Back” where we display ways to be green and to help and conserve. Sure, we have a couple of images that are from our website but we don’t really focus on them. We want to show you wants to improve your life and how we’re working to improve ours.
